Database Administrator
1. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of IT and Database functions.
a. Ensures system stability and accessibility. Monitors performance and makes recommendations for upgrades and enhancements.
b. Oversees database backups, restores, and disaster recovery plans.
c. Ensures a high level of system security.
d. Develops and maintains administration guide used by programmers.
e. Oversees the installation and configuration of the server.
f. Performs day-to-day maintenance of the server.
g. Assists programming teams with the development of databases, triggers, store procedures, and other development related tasks.
2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients and outside contacts.
a. Tracks and resolves problems promptly and effectively.
b. Obtains and conveys information as needed. Sends reports and updates to clients and stakeholders as required.
c. Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Company.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge:
Knowledge of development cycles and standards. Knowledge of server platforms.
