Jr. Database Administrator
The MS SQL Server Jr. DBA will provide operational database services, including owning, tracking, and resolving database requests, review reports (ie: database backups, maintenance, and monitoring), identify and resolve service related issues, and work with the DB team to develop strategic solutions. This is an entry-level position supporting the senior database team.
Job Duties:
Monitor databases and systems for availability
Oversee backup, mirroring, replication, and failover
Restore and recover corrupted databases
Monitor jobs, log files, and error reports daily
Install and test new database installations, upgrades, and patches
Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
Import and export data to and from third-party vendors
Required Skills:
Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server
Experience working with Windows server 2003/2008
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Excellent documentation skills
SSIS experience a plus
