Oracle DBA
Oracle DBA's to assist in upgrading enterprise health systems to newer release levels. This position involves responsibilties such as backup, recovery, replication, execution and troubleshooting of PL/SQL and shell scripts, performance troubleshooting, and external customer communication.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, restoration, replication and upgrade of Oracle databases in Linux, HP-UX, and AIX operating system environments. Additional activities may include the following: general database troubleshooting, database tuning, software installation, resolution of Oracle errors, and evaluation of resource utilization. Participation in customer calls, documentation and mentoring is required.
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas Responsible for planning, coordinating, and administration of Oracle database(s), including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Establishes and maintains security integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Responsibilities may include the following: troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving Oracle errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years experience in Oracle database administration
- experience within an UNIX environment (preferably Linux, HP-UX and AIX)
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
