MySQL DBA
Support and maintain large (multi-terabyte) MySQL production databases containing critical business data.
Administer and support existing db systems, working to optimize performance, stability, and uptime.
Write and maintain Python scripts for monitoring, capacity planning, backups, and recovery.
Collaborate with the Engineering and IT teams to define requirements and implement new db systems to meet the growing needs of the business.
Assist in on-call efforts to maintain db uptime as needed.
* Support and maintain large (multi-terabyte) MySQL production databases containing critical business data.
* Administer and support existing db systems, working to optimize performance, stability, and uptime.
* Write and maintain Python scripts for monitoring, capacity planning, backups, and recovery.
* Collaborate with the Engineering and IT teams to define requirements and implement new db systems to meet the growing needs of the business.
* Assist in on-call efforts to maintain db uptime as needed.
* Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
* Experience writing SQL for a relational database such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2 or PostgreSQL.
* Strong Linux skills.
* Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (C, C++, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.).
* Proficiency in Python or strong willingness to learn.
* Working knowledge of Linux md raid and LVM, or willingness to learn.
* Bonuses:
* Experience administering a relational database.
* Proficiency in C.
* Experience operating large RAID arrays.
