MySQL Database Administrator
* Table and database schema architecture
* Normalization of database schema
* Query creation and optimization
* Index creation, management, and optimization
* Create stored procedures, prepared statements, triggers, views, foreign key relationships
* Data warehousing methodologies
* SQL programming
* Integral member of the Technology team with the ability to recommend and implement best practices in query and schema architecture
* Smoke and load testing
* Performance monitoring and reporting
* Performance optimization at query, schema, service, OS, and hardware levels
* Install, analyze, monitor, configure, manage, and maintain multiple MySQL servers and databases
* Capacity planning, health monitoring, security improvements, diagnostics, and performance tuning
* MySQL Replication
* Shell scripting
* Automated failover and recovery, backup scripting and disaster recovery planning
* Backup and restoration of databases
* 5+ years professional experience administering MySQL databases
* At least a BS in computer science or related discipline, more advanced technical degree preferred
* Expertise with MyISAM and InnoDB storage engines
* An expert writing complex, yet elegant SQL queries
* Security and reliability focused
* Advanced MySQL and SQL troubleshooting skills
* MySQL certification a plus
* Significant knowledge of Linux OS and running MySQL in Linux
* Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of tasks, process, and products
* Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, troubleshooting, analytical, and interpersonal skills
* Positive, enthusiastic, energetic, detail oriented, and self-motivated
* Ability to work independently and as a team member in a dyna
