RDS DBA / Oracle + SQL developer

Providing analysis, design, development, and tuning skills on various tasks in business oriented projects as well as in the technical book-of-work projects. Come up with best practices and dos and doníts for the development teams. Be part of a broader group of DB experts globally to come up with and enforce best practices. Be a gatekeeper to all code making it to production. Be aware of the latest tools and developments in the market and make recommendations based on them Be the key go to person on the floor for all DB related questions and concerns. Assist in the migration and upgrade to the latest version of Oracle and help with DB deployments. Tuning SQL throughout the systems. Monitoring production database performance using the Oracle Database Diagnostics pack and helping the production support group as required. Proactively finding and fixing performance and scalability issues in existing code. This includes re-modeling of processes or database objects if necessary. Occasional support requiring some weekend work at times. .

Expert knowledge of Oracle application development using SQL and PL/SQL. Expert knowledge of Oracle RDBMS architecture. Expert knowledge of data loading methods, ideally Informatica knowledge. Experience with Oracle tools Ė, datapump, imp/exp, Enterprise Manager. Experience with query tuning techniques. Proven experience in delivering applications. Exposure to large scale Oracle data warehouse systems. Competent in Unix environment, knowledge of shell scripting and common Unix tools. Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new challenges. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work at a fast pace in a dynamic team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment for all stakeholders. .
