Database Administrator
Responsibilities
• Optimizing queries and making any necessary changes to table or data structure
• Tuning high performance, high availability databases
• Reviewing and applying schema changes
• Creating a large number of master-slave replicas
• Database backup and recovery
• Creating automation in a distributed database environment
• Data warehousing
• Monitoring of production environment, migration of objects from Dev to QA to Prod environments
• Security management and capacity planning
Desired Qualifications
• 5+ years dedicated DBA experience in a high online traffic environment
• Minimum 2+ years MySQL DBA experience
• Hands on experience with MySQL replication
• Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• High Availability experience
• UNIX/Linux shell scripting
• Perl and PHP programming
• Scaling large databases with large user apps
• Database Design
