Oracle DBA

Responsibilities:

• Administration and maintenance of all ORACLE servers • Trouble shooting specific ORACLE BUGS and errors • Supporting all development efforts by meeting with developers and helping them devise the best practices • On call support during off hours and weekends (on rotation)

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience as an Oracle DBA • Expertise in Oracle versions 9 through 11g • Expertise in multi-node RAC systems • Ability to work on a variety of platforms including Linux, HP, and Windows • Expertise of Data Guard (physical and logical) • Experience in backup/recovery , including use of RMAN • Experience with Perl development experience is a plus • Ability to write tuned SQL, including PL/SQL stored procedures and packages • Ability to use AWR and ASH to perform diagnostics and tuning • Ability to work with a variety of file types including cooked, raw, ocfs, and asm • Ability to code shell and Perl scripts • Ability to support both large and small systems (several GB to 15TB) • Ability to support both DSS and OLTP systems • Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving various site performance issues and tuning. • Understanding and basic administration of NT and windows platforms • Ability to provide 24x7 support (on rotation) • Manage Security for various production servers • Ability to design and implement Disaster recovery • Backup and restore strategy involving Complete database backup/restore, transaction log backup/restore • Knowledge of Perl/ Python and Shell. • Experience of working in an E-Commerce site • Thorough knowledge of Oracle RAC • Thorough knowledge of DataGuard • Experience with DBARTISAN Change Manger – a schema comparison tool • Experience with Visual Source Safe (VSS) for version control. • Experience with ERWIN for data modeling and system design • Experience of UNIX/LINUX system administration.
