Senior Oracle DBA
* Oracle OLTP database environments supporting Amazon's advertising products
* Database and systems level troubleshooting and optimization
* Database and systems performance tuning
* Data Modeling and Schema design, PL/SQL package development and management
* Participation in shared pager coverage across Amazon databases.
* At least five years of experience as an Oracle DBA on Linux/Unix platforms
* Experience in 24x7 production environments
* Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g experience on databases of at least 500M in data segment size
* Performed installations, upgrades and patches across 9i, 10g and 11g databases
* Experienced in data guard, standby databases and advanced queuing
* Experienced in RMAN Backup and Recovery
* Implemented Capacity Management and Monitoring solutions
* Extensive experience with high-volume OLTP database systems
* Thorough SQL and PL/SQL skill set
* Excellent Shell scripting skills in Bash and/or Perl
* Extensive Understanding of Oracle Instrumentation for Internal Diagnostics and Application Metrics
* Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with DBA and application teams
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
