MS SQL SERVER DATABASE ENGINEER (JUNIOR or INTERMEDIATE)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Administer, replicate, troubleshoot, and tune SQL Server database
* Troubleshoot performance issues and deadlock conditions
* Write and execute conversion scripts for database feature upgrades
* Gather performance data
* Maintain automated jobs and backup scripts
* Work with hosted service provider to ensure smooth continuing operation of the database
REQUIREMENTS
* At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server in production environment
* Thorough understanding of SQL transactions and SQL locking
* Thorough understanding of race conditions and deadlocks
* Experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server
* Experience with user permissions on SQL tables
* Experience with database diagramming tools
* MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES.
DESIRABLE (BUT NOT REQUIRED) SKILLS
* T-SQL programming experience, particularly in query optimization
* Knowledge of SSRS
* Experience with third-party tools for manipulating & comparing SQL databases
* Experience with SQL replication or clustering
* Knowledge of SSAS or ETL is also of interest
