SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
DUTIES INCLUDE:
*
Modify existing databases and database management systems
*
Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and improvements to database systems, such as the installation of new databases
*
Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations
*
Ability to write and maintain Stored Procedures
*
Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications
*
Build and maintain database indexes and indexed views
*
Maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures
*
Participate in Database design and implementation discussions for all database applications and environments
*
Implement and maintain database security
*
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
*
Plan for database growth and changes (capacity planning)
*
Perform general technical trouble shooting
QUALIFICATIONS
*
2-3 years experience as a Development DBA using SQL Server 2000/2005
*
Experience performing production support in a SQL Server environment
*
Capable of supporting and implementing technology projects as the primary DBA in support of business initiatives
*
Able to work effectively in a team environment
*
Proficient with time and task management
*
Strong verbal and written communication skills
*
Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with team members and external customers
*
Experience working in a multi-data center environment
*
Knowledge of the insurance/healthcare industry preferred
*
Working knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and/or SSAS
*
Experience using of project planning tools
*
Experience in .Net development environment
*
Experience using third-party development and/or monitoring tools
*
College degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering or equivalent experience required
