Oracle Database Administrator
* 45+ Oracle instances
* 24x7 on-call support for critical production database issues (typically around 5 calls monthly)
* Support occasional weekend work for upgrades and service when plant systems are scheduled for maintenance
* Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
* Maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
* Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
* Monitor application and system error logs; troubleshoot problems with assistance from development team
* Monitor capacity trends and assist with growth planning
* Perform general technical troubleshooting and assist development teams as required
* Perform performance optimization on PL/SQL in support of application development and support
* Work as part of a team and provide support when required; consult with technical experts or vendor as necessary to solve difficult problems.
* Interface with Oracle vendors for technical support
* Manage / complete an Oracle upgrade to 11g by end of 2010
* Oracle software patch management and version control
* Setup and maintain documentation and standards
* Creating / updating service tickets (HP Service Center) to track/manage DBA support activity
* Review and execute scripts in support of the application support team and developers
* CMR implementation:
* Execute table changes (DDL) in various environments (test, stage, production)
* Promote stored procedures to environments
* Ensure synchronization of environments (version control)
* Support other tasks as deemed a priority by client management (e.g. audits, upgrades, etc.)
