Senior Database Administrator (DBA)
Primary Duties:
*
Install and maintain database software and related software products
*
Plan and coordinate activities related to design, implementation, backup and recovery of databases across multiple platforms and systems
*
Provide administration and oversight of production, testing and development databases
*
Design processes and execute efforts around upgrades, patches, performance tuning, backup and recovery processes, and monitoring
*
Troubleshoot database, integration, and connectivity issues, and tunes database performance
*
Supports physical data base space management, performance, and placement
*
Provide direction based on emerging database technologies
*
Part in a rotating 7x24 on-call support
Secondary Duties:
*
Produce and maintain documentation of processes/procedures and standards for effective database administration
*
Design, implement, and manage user access controls
*
Mentorship and leadership for less experienced IT team members
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
*
5 years of database administration in a multiuse Oracle and MS SQL Server environment
*
5 years Unix and/or Linux with strong scripting skills
*
Relevant certifications preferred and technology related Bachelor’s degree preferred
