MySQL Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
* Setup and maintain production MySQL application instances
* Monitor and tune the performance of multiple MySQL servers.
* Monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems.
* Monitor database backup and validate recovery plans.
* Work with development teams providing DBA services required for teams to be successful.
* Allocate storage structures, and create and modify database objects.
* Design database security roles; enroll users and audit database security.
* Follow change management policies to migrate corrections and enhancements through database environments.
* Coordinate with system administration and application development teams in matters such as capacity planning and application design.
* Cross-train the Site Production team in the care and upkeep of databases.
Experience:
* Installing, supporting and maintaining MySQL in a production environment
* MySQL clustering
* SQL query construction and optimization
* MySQL performance tuning
* Tracking down problematic queries in the query processing queue.
* Experience with a scripting language such as bash or python
* Deploying schema changes to production.
Qualifications:
* 2 years (recently) of production MySQL administration responsibilities
* 2+ years working with the SQL
* 2 years of Linux server experience
