Data Warehouse Programmer

Programming/Analyses

· Gather business requirements from users and develop solutions to meet business needs

· Execute all phases of programming activities including program design, coding, debugging, testing, documentation and implementation

· Write ad-hoc queries involving sales, operational, order and customer data

· Build OLAP cubes

· Review data loaded into Data Warehouse for accuracy

· Assist other Analysts working in the Data Warehouse on related business applications

· Gather business requirements from users and create query tool packages for end-users

· Train and assist users on how to use DS2

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

· Experience in a Data Warehouse environment

· 3+ years experience with Perl on Unix extracting and manipulating data

· Strong working knowledge and experience with SQL and relational databases (DB2 a plus)

· Experience querying medium to large-scale databases

· Experience with designing and building ETL solutions

· Working knowledge of Korn shell scripts

· Familiarity with IBM-AIX a plus

· Experience with BI Tools (e.g. Cognos 8 BI, Transformer, Powerplay, Business Objects, etc) desired

· Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives

· Good business aptitude and strong interest in applying technology to solve business problems

· Attention to detail and ability to multi-task a must

· Ability to adapt quickly to complex challenges and work effectively with minimal direction or supervision

· Strong teamwork, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
