Database Administrator
Knowledge and Capabilities:
Strong organization and communication skills; must clearly communicate technical issues and resolutions to customer/clients, other departments and senior management.
Strong writing and documentation skills.
Data Warehousing and Data Modeling knowledge a plus.
In depth knowledge and experience with stored procedures and SQL queries and optimizing them to improve overall database performance.
In depth knowledge of database security best practices.
In depth knowledge of complex MS SQL and MySQL replication troubleshooting required.
Working knowledge of modern data network technologies, enterprise storage technologies, (SAN, NAS etc), server consolidation technologies, server virtualization technologies, directories, and disaster recovery technologies.
In depth working knowledge of complex computing management systems including system administration, performance monitoring, problem management, change management, records management and disaster prevention and recovery.
Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated record of delivering quality customer service.
Requirements:
Technical Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a production MS SQL and MySQL DBA.
MCDBA, CMDBA or equivalent technical certification preferred.
2-4 years experience designing, implementing, and managing corporate enterprise systems.
2-3 years experience with Windows O/S and Linux/UNIX installations.
Basic Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft administration.
Basic Knowledge and understanding of Linux/Unix administration.
Experience in a high growth, fast paced environment.
Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a plus.
