DB2 Database Administrator

The responsibilities include:

·Managing procedures and tools required to support development and testing activities

·Assisting Operations in the maintenance of development and test data database instances and associated storage and backup requirements

·Works with the teams to coordinate controlled changes to the database environments

·Coordinates with infrastructure and systems software support on product upgrades and fixes, database coordination, and overall database management.

·Ensures proper performance tuning and manages database performance testing

·Provides timely responses to client requests and queries and resolves client issues in a timely fashion.

·Responsible for providing technical support and guidance regarding DB2 databases to the development, maintenance and test teams.

·Provide on-call support outside normal business hours as needed.

·Effectively executes and schedules all DB2 work units

Qualifications:

·7 years z/OS DB2 DBA experience

·DB2 DBA Certification

·Good understanding of Application design on DB2 databases

·Good understanding of Logical / Physical Data Modeling

·Good understanding and knowledge of development environments: COBOL, Java etc.

·Knowledge of mainframe CICS development and test region administration

·Proficient in Microsoft tools, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project

·Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action

·Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with senior management, technical subject matter experts and business customers are essential in this role
