SQL Database Administrator

Responsibilities

· Automate database monitoring, management, and import/export processes

· Perform migration of all 2000/2005 databases to 2008

· Develop and optimize queries and stored procedures

· Ensure database consistency, optimal performance, and high availability.

· Work with vendors and internal teams on software installation and updates

· Coordinate with Sys Admin on security, backups, replication, and disaster recovery procedures

· Implement the maintenance and expansion of the database hardware and software

· Perform system maintenance as necessary

· Troubleshoot and apply corrective action

· Collaborate on establishment of data standards

· Add documentation, as necessary

· Keep track of latest advances and suggest improvements Requirements

· 3+ years hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with technical experience in the development of databases, stored procedures and reports

· Effective communication, interpersonal, and organization skills

· A self-starter who can successfully manage projects and priorities to completion

· Ability to work in a team efficiently and with diplomacy under pressure

· Must be eligible to work in the US Desired Skills

· Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)

· MS SharePoint WSS 3 (knowledge of MOSS 2007 a plus)

· SQL Server 2005 or 2008 (installation, maintenance, and tuning)

· Web development experience with ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, XHTML, Vb.Net, C#, VB

· Microsoft IIS

· Linux

· Basic networking knowledge

· Experience with working in the Video Game industry
