Sr. Database Administrator

Key Duties & Responsibilities (in decreasing Critical Emphasis order)

* Provide database support and advice to Technical Services personnel to help resolve customer issues. * Installation/Upgrading/Patching of remote databases which support our Assurance and OnDemand products. * Provide database architecture and administration leadership to multiple product lines and development teams. * Ensure Backup & Recovery plans are in place and tested to meet business requirements. * Support development, operations, and QA team in analyzing and understanding data quality issues seen in customer installations. * On-Call duties for database issues * Perform other duties as required.

Skills

* Expert level understanding and experience with Database and SQL/PLSQL performance tuning. * Strong understanding of Oracle internals such as Waits, Latches, Locks, Memory and table /index storage. * Experience with configuration, partitioning, load balancing, backup/recovery, sizing and space management, materialized views and snapshots for VLDB Analytical databases. * Experience in a customer support environment.

Required Experience

Formal Education

* BS Degree in Computer Science, MSCS preferred * Oracle Certified DBA preferred

Experience (type & duration)

* 8 years of experience working with databases, 5 yrs with Oracle. * Hands on experience with Oracle RAC and versions 10 and 11g.
