Oracle DBA

Primary Responsibilities * Designing, evaluating, deploying and supporting application database systems (Oracle 10G) * Monitoring database systems, configuring for maximal uptime and performance * Automating and documenting all daily/regular tasks, so that others can monitor them in absence of DBA * Documenting all database related DR steps, so that others can perform DR in absence of DBA * Create and maintain all database backup/restore/replication procedures. * Work closely with the Application Development team on the design of new database entities/schemas. * Review and approve database schema changes proposed by development team prior to implementation. * Evaluating design of all Oracle database peripheral products such as RAC and Data Guard.

Experience Required:

At least 5 years experience is required the majority of the following areas:

* Oracle database software Installation/Patch/Upgrade * Solid OS/Network experience to do DB admin and troubleshooting * Proactive Database capacity management * Schema management including converting logical data models to physical data models * Security management including users and roles * Database Backup and Recovery via oracle RMAN plus Logical DB Export * Disaster recovery failover processes with Oracle Data Guard/EMC Mirror View. * Database Troubleshooting and Performance * Partitioning Management * Experience in working and managing with large databases * Experience of Oracle database in a Linux/Unix/EMC SAN infrastructure environment * Oracle Streams - Advanced Queues * Oracle advanced snapshot replication/Materialized View/distributed databases
