Programmer / Developer / Database Admin

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Copy and re-create an existing database • Enhance existing database records with additional data from other third party disconnected sources. • Update existing product database records with annually updated data. Matching of source records to existing records from year to year is a must. • Develop and integrate specific procedures for loading / transferring data from external sources into our product database records. • Enhance existing database records with additional data from other third party disconnected sources. • Integrate customer specific data records with existing product database. • Work directly with software developers and product management to coordinate database changes based on new product designs. Research, develop and implement applications which fulfill specific company needs. These applications will be developed on the best applicable platform to fulfill the immediate goal. • Develop web-based applications for use on the Intranet and Extranet. • Maintain technical documentation. • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Technical Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Experience in designing, installing, monitoring, and ongoing support of mySQL or SQL databases. • Detailed technical knowledge of mySQL or SQL • Database design and normalization • Working understanding of My SQL or SQL • Index Tuning • Experience in working with very large data sets • Demonstrates experience with database optimization strategies. • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
