SQL Server DBA

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and managing SQL Server 2005 as well as participate in the architecture and design of new databases

· Maintenance and administration of servers

· Installation, configuration, and upgrading of server software and related products

· Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures

· Implement and maintain database security

· Perform database/application tuning and performance monitoring

· Setup and maintain documentation and standards

· Database capacity planning and involvement in server capacity planning

· Data modeling and transforming logical data models to physical models

· Perform general technical troubleshooting and provide consultation to development teams

· Interface with vendors/suppliers for technical support

· Documentation of system environments

· Providing technical training to other staff as necessary

Requirements:

· Must have a minimum 3-5 years experience in MS SQL Server database environments with a focus on maintaining, backing up, and maintenance of critical data systems including performance tuning, stored procedures, triggers, and DTS packages.

· Must be proficient in integration of SQL Server, relational databases, SQL, and database management

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Replication

· Must be able to work independently and in a team environment and have strong customer service skills

· Exposure to other applications and development languages such as MS Access, Backup Exec, XML, ASP, C#, .Net, JavaScript, VB Script, and HTML is a plus

· MCSE/MCDBA highly desirable

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent experience
