SQL DBA/Developer
Responsibilities:
* Support high-transaction ecommerce websites running SQL 2005 on the latest 64 bit hardware utilizing SAN storage technology.
* Specific responsibilities will include Development, Test, and Production environment support
* Assist with regular database code pushes to production environment
* Performance tuning, data replication, and security administration
* Production environment querying, reporting, troubleshooting, and data updates
* On-call availability during off hours
Requirements:
* Detail oriented – an engineer who understands system engineering from a DBA perspective and knows how to troubleshoot and tune poor performing database stored procedures.
* Solid communicator - able to work with developers, testers, network, system, and SAN engineers, and managers
* Flexible – able to juggle multiple responsibilities and not above working on tasks such as backups, security administration, documentation for disaster recovery, etc.
* Trustworthy – security compliance is crucial to our success and there are many ongoing initiatives to improve and monitor security.
* Reliable – on-call availability during off hours and high speed internet access from home are required in order to achieve our standards for system availability
* Minimum 3 years of SQL Server DBA Experience, at least 1 year of SQL 2005.
* Minimum 2 years of SQL Server development/T-SQL experience.
* Experience with optimization and troubleshooting techniques to address performance problems on SQL Server 2005.
* Experience with stored procedure development and tuning using established coding conventions.
* Experience with: SSIS, DTS, Transactional Replication, and SQL Server Clustering.
* You must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and an excellent communicator.
* Experience working in a high-transaction, high-availability OLTP environment a plus
