Sr. SQL Server Integration Developer
Description
The role of the Sr. SQL Server Integration Developer is to design, implement and maintain an enterprise-wide shared data environment which expands the company’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. Working with the Enterprise Data Architect, the Sr. SQL Server Integration Developer will achieve this by strategically designing, developing, implementing and maintaining an enterprise-level shared data environment. This person will also be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining various methods of integration between this shared data environment and other applications and well as being the primary resource for enterprise-wide reporting from this shared data environment.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
* Develop and deploy methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement.
* Conduct data capacity planning, life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks.
* Create strategies and plans for data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving.
Acquisition & Deployment
* Design, code, test and deploy application integration programs between various applications and a SQL Server 2005 enterprise-wide shared data store using a variety of integration tools such as WebMethods, BizTalk Server, SSIS, etc.
* Provide application level SQL Server DBA support to multiple project teams.
* Provide technical database administration services for a multi-platform, multi-database 24x7 environment.
* Plan, design and implement scalable databases. This includes providing specifics for hardware layout and system settings (e.g., disk configuration, memory settings, page requirements) and planning and creating databases (e.g., user databases and system databases).
* Create, test and maintain all database objects (i.e., files, tables, indexes, views, users, keys, constraints, roles) on Production, QA and Development servers.
* Design, code, test and deploy stored procedures, triggers, views, etc.
* Design, code, test and deploy .Net web services, XML interfaces, etc.
* Design, code, test and deploy end-user reporting via SSAS, SSRS, MDX, PerformancePoint Server, etc.
* Plan and coordinate application roll-outs with Development teams.
* Provide configuration management and change control documentation.
* Provide detailed direction and peer review of database objects (SQL, tables, etc.) ultimately flowing to Test and Production systems.
Operational Management
* Address data-related problems in regards to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.
* Implement and administer multiple SQL Server 2005 clustered environments.
* Develop and implement key components as needed to create testing criteria in order to guarantee the fidelity and performance of data architecture.
* Identify and develop opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
* College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
Knowledge & Experience
* Hands-on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.
* Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
* Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices.
* Knowledge and significant experience with Windows Active Directory and domain concepts
* Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
* Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so on.
* Ability to manage data and metadata migration.
* Experience with database platforms, including Oracle, mySQL, and MS SQL.
* Understanding of Web services (SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL).
* Object oriented programming experience (e.g. using Java, J2EE, EJB, .NET, WebSphere, etc.).
* Excellent client/user interaction skills to determine requirements.
* In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems.
* Knowledge and significant experience designing, developing, debugging and deploying SQL Server stored procedures, triggers, T-SQL & SSIS packages.
* Knowledge and significant experience with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, MDX, data warehousing and building data cubes.
* Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence tools
* Knowledge of Oracle databases is a plus.
