SQL Server Database Administrator
The successful candidate will be reporting to a Supervisor who will be responsible for delegating and reviewing work assignments.
Additional job responsibilities/activities may include:
** Assist System Administrator(s) in the installation of SQLServer software.
** Responsible for configuration and tuning of all SQLServer databases.
** Responsible for database file systems, device lay out and backup/recovery procedures of SQL databases.
** Responsible for database sizing requirements.
** Responsible for connectivity to the database through both two-tier and three tier mechanisms like client connections, ODBC, which excludes LAN or Network connections/failures and drivers installation on client machines.
** Responsible for data model and data dictionary maintenance of database.
** Apply all schema changes to production database.
** Provide support for the middle tier (Tuxedo) to database connection and consultation on Tuxedo Configuration (or other middle tier products).
** Responsible for setting up user security access to SQLServer database, excluding application-level access security which is administered by the user.
** Interfaces with Microsoft to resolve Microsoft SQLServer issues or problems.
** Tuning and performance of SQLServer Database. This includes the development and implementation of automated alerts.
** Assist testing/QA process includes problem determination assistance related to database.
** Assist the developers in writing SQL queries, Store Procedures/DTS Packages.
** Review database schema, Store Procedures, DDL**s, DTS Packages, Replication before applying in Production Servers and maintaining it.
** Assist in Installation/Upgrading Application Software Package.
** Responsible for Database Migration
** Develop/Document Honda SQL Server Standards and Procedures.
** Responsible for Database design.
** The project team is responsible for all impact analysis. The DBA assists by running queries to help search for impacted areas, but the project team has the final responsibility for discovering all affected stored procedures and applications.
