Responsibilities:
Position Description:
To you, it痴 data妖atabases containing more than 3TB of information. To our 50 million members, however, it痴 3TB of memories, relationships, and chances to reconnect.
As an Oracle DBA on our team, you値l keep those connections alive by maintaining and administering the large, complex databases that support website. Specifically, you値l monitor databases and respond immediately to critical conditions. You値l wear a pager 7 days a month when you値l be responsible for 24-hour coverage. You値l defuse possible problems before they become critical; ensure database reliability, availability, and performance; and institute and maintain backup and recovery procedures. You値l also update and upgrade the site and fine-tune production resources to achieve optimal performance.
You値l work collaboratively in a six-person team along with members from Dev, QA, and the business division to design and implement database solutions, clone databases to create multiple environments, tune the DB layer, and troubleshoot any database issues. You値l respond to existing issues and have the opportunity to contribute new ideas.
Qualifications:
# Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition
# Oracle RAC
# Oracle Hot Backup and Recovery
# Working on 24/7 production three-tier systems and troubleshooting performance issues
# Distributed databases
# Unix or Linux platforms
# Shell scripting
# Oracle Replication
You must also have:
# BS or BA from an accredited college or university
# 5+ years experience working as an Oracle DBA using Solaris and Linux platforms
# Strong communication skills
