As a Database Administrator, you would focus on the specification, installation, and performance tuning of SQL Server 2000/2005. You should be well versed in the configuration of baseline installations, disk layout, raid levels, and memory requirements. At least 1 year of hands-on experience with the design, implementation and maintenance of SQL Server is required. You should be adept at writing queries, reading query plans, tuning indexes and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks. Experience with high availability solutions such as clustering, replication, log shipping, or data mirroring is highly desirable. Additional responsibilities include capacity planning, scalability assessment, and the creation and maintenance of internal documentation.

* Interfacing with different business groups including IT and Developers
Job Requirements:
* 1-5+ years experience with SQL Server 2000/2005
* BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience
* Experience with multiple high volume OLTP database servers
* Ability to multi-task and manage multiple job responsibilities
* Availability to support off-hours code pushes
* Participate in an on-call rotation with several other DBA's
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of conveying ideas and applying knowledge to challenging tasks
* Experience designing and implementing a data warehouse is a plus
* Knowledge of MySQL is also a plus
