Database Administrator

Seeking a creative and motivated Database Administrator, specializing in Microsoft SQL Server, to join the IT Applications team. The team is responsible for developing applications and integrating purchased software to provide IT functionality for employees and customers of a growing medical device company.

Experience/Qualifications: Applicants must have technical experience in each of the following areas:

* Significant Microsoft SQL Server 2005 administration, including configuring, modifying, documenting, analyzing, backup/restore, stored procedures, and tuning * Scripting experience, including stored procedures (some) * Configuration management of database changes (some) * Application development experience, preferably in web technologies (some) * Experience in a medical device company or other regulated industry (desired) * Experience with QlikView reporting product (desired)

* Excellent organizational skills * Strong problem solving skills * Ability to learn new information quickly * Attention to detail * Strong written and verbal communication skills

Tasks and responsibilities include:

* Design, document and implement database schema changes, including proper indices, views, schema change management, and troubleshooting * Monitor all databases for functional and performance problems * Manage all aspects of SQL server installations, including test, pilot and production environments * Support application developers * Write stored procedures and other scripts as needed * Ensure that backups are working correctly, including test restores and disaster recovery simulations
