Database Administrator

Description The Database Administrator is responsible for the management of enterprise Microsoft SQL Server databases including support of new projects and management of operational databases. Related activities include installation of database servers and instances, management of database security, maintenance plans, performance and tuning, fault identification, Extract/Transformation/Load using SSIS, creation and maintenance/optimization of stored procedures and upgrades of Microsoft SQL Server versions.

Requirements - Experience with Microsoft SQLServer development and administration with a minimum 5 years experience. - Must have experience with implementations of Microsoft SQL Server when used for transactional databases and Data Warehousing - Stored Procedure optimization, DTS, ETL (Extract/Transform/Load), SQLServer optimization, and Disk space optimization for performance (RAID and SAN). - Must have database design, ERWin and logical and physical data modeling, Internet application design and implementation on Microsoft technologies. - Must have SQLServer performance monitoring tools, and database replication is desirable. - Designing a Database Server Infrastructure by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Designing a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Infrastructure - Designing Security for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Microsoft T-SQL programming - Administering and Automating Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Databases and Servers - Optimizing and Maintaining SQL Server databases - Troubleshooting database issues - Must have excellent skills in verbal and written communication, time management, organizational and interpersonal, and teamwork. - Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience is preferred. - The position has a certification as a MCDBA or MCITP: Database Administrator or will achieve this certification within a year after hire. - The Database administrator will aid with implementation of Microsoft Analysis Services, Performance Point and Proclarity
