Database Administrator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Monitor SQL Server jobs.
· Ensure database integrity for all o fours production SQL Server databases.
· Create server and client databases for customers.
· Write scripts and batches in T-SQL to update data as requested using Query Analyzer as the design tool.
· Write new stored procedures to streamline processes running in SQL Server.
· Provide off-hours support as circumstances require.
· Monitor transfer of data betweens server-side SQL Server databases and client SQL Server databases.
· Monitor backup procedures and disk space usage.
· Perform periodic optimizations on SQL Server databases.
· Create SQL Server database transfer procedures and automated import procedures.
· Deliver business-centric reports to senior management as required.
· Performs other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelors degree in related field preferred
· 2 to 5 years of hands-on database administration with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005.
· A good knowledge of the physical database design
· Ability to perform both database performance tuning and monitoring
· Knowledge of all SQL backup and recovery scenarios
· A good knowledge of SQL Server security management
· A good knowledge SQL Server data integrity
· Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems
· Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
· The DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
· Provide a strategic database direction for the organization
· The DBA should have the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
· The DBA should possess a sound understanding of the business
