Sr. Software Engineer - Database

Skills

* Java/J2EE, JDBC, MySQL, Linux, business analysis, data modeling, shell scripting * Understanding of XML, Web services (SOAP) is a plus.

Qualifications

* 5+ years experience working extensively with databases (preferably MySQL), SQL, and relational concepts * 5+ years experience with Java J2EE and JDBC * Experience with designing and implementing large databases and/or data warehouses for analytical reporting * Solid understanding of rational index design and SQL statement optimization techniques * Good understanding of Linux environment * Ability to use sound judgment to develop effective solutions from loosely stated requirements * Intense attention to detail - should be able to effectively QA own work product to make sure that warehouse data is complete and accurate * Ability to work in a collaborative, start-up environment on really interesting problems * Proficiency with shell-scripting and Perl a plus * Proficiency with UML a plus
