DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

The DBA will be part of the database team responsible for supporting the current MySQL and MS SQL Server infrastructure. This will include all operational database monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning for production systems. A little about the role:

* Ensuring all maintenance, system integrity and space requirements for Games database environments are met * Reviewing schema design and data definitions for production systems * Evaluating and recommending database hardware and software * Working directly with developers on related database initiatives * Monitoring and performance tuning of production database systems * Participating in a 24/7 rotating on call cycle supporting production database operations

Skills and experience you should be bringing to the table:

* 3+ years experience with relational databases in a production environment * Solid understanding of major components in relational database architecture * Experience in database backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures * Experience with analyzing and tuning databases for performance and efficiency * Troubleshooting and communication skills are crucial to the success of this position

Related experience and knowledge it would be nice to have:

* Previous experience with large data sets and high transaction environments * Experience with multiple database platforms * Knowledge of various database replication and clustering methods * Knowledge of and/or previous experience with Linux or UNIX * Undergraduate degree with a technology, engineering, or mathematical focus
