Database Administrator
Job Description
· Manage all aspects of SQL replication within both local and remote locations
· Work with all levels of users and management to understand data needs and provide solutions with data integrity in mind.
· Work with Product and Development teams to define and/or understanding data environment changes in relation to product enhancements / rewrites.
· Have a strong interest in understanding the business drivers of our industry and take the initiative to uncover and exploit new sources of premium research.
· Create and maintain stored procedures, queries and reports to support standard and adhoc data requests.
· Create/modify and maintain stored procedures and reporting tables
· Act as a primary interface by training users on data functionality. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve application issues. Facilitate building of custom applications upon request.
· Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to research, evaluate and test data tool-set products.
Requirements
· 4-6 years SQL database experience
· Excellent SQL Replication experience, preferably in a production SaaS/ASP space
· Strong skills in writing stored procedures, and performance tuning
· Strong understanding of relational databases in a complex environment
· Excellent project, attention to detail and analytical skills
· Experience in website statistical reporting a plus
· Experience with clustered systems, and system administration aspects a strong plus
· Experience with batch (.BAT) scripting and troubleshooting a plus
· Able to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong written and verbal communications skills. Capable of working with a broad range of business and technology executives.
· Strong computer skills including MSSQL, DB2 and Microsoft Access
· The ability to develop good working relationships with product management, end-users, developers, system administrators, and external vendors.
· Troubleshooting skills and ability to perform under pressure
· Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and Oracle Experience a Plus
· BS in Computer Science, Business, or Information Technology, MS preferred
