Oracle DBA
* Maintain and support Oracle databases and applications in a real-time trading environment
* Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and MySQL database software and related products
* Provide user and developer support, and support to DBA associates and Application DBAs
* Troubleshoot, resolve, and document production problems
* Maintain sound backup policies and procedures
* Perform routine and customary operational activities to ensure a stable database environment
* Archive data from primary databases to archive locations.
* Perform schema data refreshes
* Monitor vendor releases and schedule necessary patches
* Participate in team projects and develop solutions to optimize databases to meet business needs
* A minimum of five or more years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration; additional experience with MySQL database administration is strongly preferred
* Bachelors degree in Technology/Computer Science or a related technical discipline required
* Experience with Oracle 11g database administration and Oracle ASM required; knowledge of trends and/or upcoming versions of Oracle, MySQL and/or SQL Server platforms a plus
* A thorough understanding of relational databases and SQL required
* Must exhibit thorough knowledge of at least one flavor of Unix; Linux preferred
* Experience with shell script programming required; Korn shell preferred with knowledge of Perl a plus
* Demonstrated experience with high availability architectures required
* Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle required
* Understanding of logical and physical modeling concepts required
* Experience with database communication mechanisms, such as Net Services, ODBC, and TCP/IP, preferred
